A logistics policy (LogNiti) [ləɡniːˈtɪ] lab for sustainable and resilient freight in India, at IIT Madras.
The research at LogNiti lab centers on Freight Transportation — spanning Last-Mile Distribution and Long-Haul Logistics — drawing on Operations Research and Transportation Economics as its primary analytical frameworks to transition India’s logistics sector towards a:
- sustainable industry with economically viable, environmentally efficient, and socially equitable freight transportation capable of handling high-probability low-severity fluctuations
- resilient industry with robust, redundant, resourceful, and rapid logisitc operations against low-probability high-severity disruptions
